Solving Uniform Distribution Probability Problems
Solving Probability Problems with a Uniform Distribution
When we are solving probability problems where the outcomes follow a uniform distribution, we can use a generalised and strucutred approach to calculating the probabilities of different events.
Probability involving dice, cards, or spinners for example can be solved this way, provided that they are fair.
The approach for finding the probability of an event when drawing from a uniform distribution involves three steps:
- Counting the number of possible outcomes
- Counting the number of outcomes () that relate to the event
- Performing the division
